MILL OPERATIVE
Our successful Ashton in Makerfield branch is currently looking for a Mill Operative.
In this role you will work as part of our external Mill based team, providing an integral part of the operation on a daily basis.
Duties are varied which include:
Operate and maintain a variety of woodworking machines including saws, moulders, planers, and CNC routers.
Measure, cut, shape, and machine timber components with precision and attention to detail.
Monitor equipment for wear and perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
Work in compliance with health and safety standards.
Assist with loading/unloading materials and organizing the Mill.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience as a machinist in a woodworking or timber mill environment.
Strong knowledge of wood types, machining techniques, and tool use.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Forklift license or CNC experience (desirable but not essential).
