Flooring Grade Moisture Resistant Chipboard Flooring – P5 (T&G)

Our P5-grade chipboard flooring is the most widely specified flooring panel in the UK, used in new house builds and refurbishment projects alike. Engineered with advanced moisture resistant resins for long-lasting durability, this chipboard flooring offers excellent structural performance when laid over C16 graded softwood joists at the correct centres.

Available in 18mm and 22mm thicknesses, each sheet measures 8ft x 2ft (2400 x 600mm) with a tongue & groove profile for fast, secure installation. For a strong, squeak-free floor, fix boards using timber screws or bond with a suitable flooring adhesive. The 22mm P5 chipboard is also suitable for certain commercial flooring applications.

Is chipboard flooring waterproof?

No. P5 chipboard flooring is moisture-resistant, meaning it can tolerate occasional exposure during construction, but it isn't designed for permanent wet conditions.

What thickness of chipboard flooring do I need?

18mm is standard for most domestic joist centres, while 22mm is used for wider joist spacings or where commercial-grade performance is needed.

Can chipboard flooring be used in bathrooms or kitchens?

P5 chipboard offers moisture resistance suitable for general domestic use, but in consistently damp areas a fully waterproof board (such as WBP plywood) is usually preferred.
