HGV CLASS 2 DRIVER

Salary: £35,197.50 per year
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm, based on 47.5 hours per week
Additional Hours: Saturday work is a requirement and will be worked on a rotational basis to meet business needs, 7:00am–12:00pm. Saturday hours are paid separately at the applicable hourly rate.
We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our transport team, completing local deliveries of timber and building products across the region.
This is a customer-facing role with local routes, meaning you are home every night. You will be working with a modern, well-maintained fleet and supported by an experienced and informative transport team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver timber and building products to trade and retail customers.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
- Secure loads safely and legally before leaving site.
- Ensure deliveries are completed safely, accurately and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service on every delivery.
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Follow all road traffic regulations, company procedures and health & safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate delivery records where required.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a valid Class 2 licence.
- Hold a valid CPC and Digi-tacho card.
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ HGV Class 2 driving experience.
- Have good knowledge of local routes.
- Be confident dealing with trade and retail customers.
- Be reliable, safety-conscious and professional.
- Be able to work well independently and as part of the wider transport team.
- Take pride in delivering excellent customer service.
- Hiab experience would be desirable but is not essential.
